How to improve your site SEO through Social Media – 3 Basic Steps

To get your desired traffic you have to do a lot of SEO for your website. By this means you can get traffic from search engines only. What else you can do? You can create an identity of your website on social media like Facebook, twitter and YouTube etc. As we know that almost everybody has an account on every social networking website. So the click rate is much more than the search engines. Social media traffic is much more reliable because the link is exposed to many people by sharing the content, rather than to wait for somebody who will search the desired keyword and land into your website.
SEO Cycle Vector
I am going to tell you the three basic steps by which you can identify your site on social media sites and get traffic from them. Following information will let you take the advantage of social traffic and social media presence.
Step One: Spread your Social shares everywhere:-
There is a book called ‘Search Engine Watch’ written by Eric Enge. He wrote that the social shares are called ‘noisy signals’. These social noisy signals include twitter’s Re tweet, Google’s ‘+1’ and Facebook’s likes. The SERPs (Search engines results page) doesn’t depend on the social signals, if it would then there would be a biggest jeopardy of buying and selling social networking pages. It still doesn’t mean that social traffic doesn’t worth it. You will get social traffic and search traffic from different path. Eric was trying to tell that there is a difference between them; they can never be the same.
As a survey there is roughly half of the US on the Facebook, there is 4.8% of the other active user on the social site. According to Eric, the SERP is dependent on the small level of population making social noise. So only small level corporations can get benefit from social media.
Step Two: Get more audience; More Likes, Followers and Subscribers:-
Until now you must have realized that how much powerful is social networking for your website. It is also a part of SEO, to get recognized on these social sites. You might be thinking that it is pretty obvious that you have to get audience to show your content but the question is how will you get the audience? The answer is simple, follow the first step. Trust me whenever you will start sharing your content through a page on Facebook. It will get exposed and if your content is good then people will subscribe and share. That’s how you will get subscribers. It will take some time but you have to be more active on these social websites.

Step Three: Engage with your Page Followers:-
You see sharing is simple but it doesn’t guarantee that people will open that link or not. So here is what you have to do. Just engage will your followers or subscribers. Sometimes people think that the post is automatically generated and is shared by some bots, so they don’t open it until you make them realize and convert them into a real follower. They will recognize your page and will wait for your posts. So be active with your followers, it is the most important thing to do.
It is not a hard work, it is a fun work. To be on social media page, remember that people need an anchor. Never ever demand anything from them like ‘likes’ or ‘shares’. This kind of relationship needs some time to develop. If you are good at this then one thing is guaranteed that you will put a great impact on the SEO of your website.

Blog benefits for SEO – Why does Google love Blogs

Google loves blogs. The main idea behind it is that people usually update original content and that blog is referred by some highly ranked websites. Usually authors have a blog and they write their articles on some high ranked websites. Basically a blog is a portfolio of an author or a contributor. So Google gives preference to them and that’s why blogs have high ranking. So here are the following facts about why search engines love blogging.
cms-logos-jpeg2
-          Crawling links: - Mostly the blogging software gives a simple structure of URL’s. It is not much complicated as other coded websites. That’s why it is easy for the search engines to enlist their search queries. Mostly the crawlers and spiders of search engines are coded in a way that they get the blog links faster and accurately. It has no auto generated permalinks. CMS sites have this disadvantage that they provide a numbered series of permalinks because of the security but they don’t know that Google doesn’t like it. It needs content links and those links should be more visible. The crawlers are coded in that way, so you can’t change it.
-          Magnetic inbound links: - As there are many plugins, extensions and widgets for blogs. So it is easy to manage your blog for SEO. The blog is reliable in a way it makes backlinks and inbound links automatically. There are some social plugins that automatically generates the number of shares and can create numerous social signals. The best thing about a blog is that it allows you to share Text, Image and Video content. Search engines love media content. As we know that this media content is unique and people mostly search for media content. Also there are a lot of blog that are too old and still have interesting information. Mostly people create blogs as their biography or portfolio. It contains more valuable content rather than those websites whom those people are writing on. These blogs have a content based on people’s experience.
-          Unique Content: – There are a lot of RSS subscribers on blog rather than the websites, we know why? It is only because of the unique content. If you are writing a fresh content on daily basis, then you are on Google’s list. It is not only about the fresh content but also you should update your website frequently. The keywords you use should be unique and high ranked.  Your article depends on the trend of keywords, so you better find some of the best and high paying keywords. Also don’t use those keywords in your article more than 4 or 5 times. It devalues your article and people will get bored of the stuff you will write. More important, try to create a sitemap and update it every day. Again there is and advantage of a blog that you can install a plugin that will automatically send files to search engine, every time you update your website.
-          Socially active community: – Your subscribers play the most important role. If you write good content and become active with them through commenting, they will rate your article. Also they will not only share your content link on other social site but also on some media forums. It plays an important role. The best thing is that you will be more visible on the web. This feature is not only for blog, it is also for CMS websites. Blog has one more feature that you can create visible backlinks. Blog play a role of forum community. Now a days people are more active on blogs rather than forums or websites.

Most People do create blogs and websites using WordPress, but they usually forgot themost important things which they have to do after installing WordPress.

WordPress is a very well known CMS and it has many Plugins and themes which may be premium or not, but mostly plugins are free. After Installation of WordPress you must have to do the Following things:

1. Delete The Default WordPress Posts:

After installation of the WordPress CMS, you always find some default posts and plugins which are installed already to guide the users. There are 1 posts, 1 page and 1 comment, which have been already made by WordPress to Guide there users, after the new installation.
You have to do is:

  • Under the ‘common section’ choose ‘custom structure’.
  • Enter %postname% in the bar. if you want some other then you may select by your own.

How To Increase Blog Traffic

Today I’m sharing the 5 most hated results producing suggestions I’ve ever given on how to increase blog traffic and a bit of insight on how well other blogs are kicking butt online. Below you’ll find a compilation of  advice I’ve given that has met with the most resistance from clients, past students and bloggy friends. Not that the advice hasn’t been taken, they’re just not easy to implement though they definitely produce results.
You may be saying “Ha! I’m no wuss, I can do it” or “I don’t care what it is! I’ll do it! Just gimme traffic!” but be warned even I am resistant to most things in this list. You can try all of them or one of them and it will increase your blog’s traffic.
Here’s a compilation of the most hated advice I’ve ever given on the matter.

Pick a niche.

“To rank well, build a site so fantastic that it makes you an authority in your niche.”
~ Matt Cutts, Head of the Google Web Spam Team

I was pretty resistant to this for almost two years. On After Bedtime Blog, I wanted to blog about whatever I wanted to blog about. It was great for two years. And then, well, let’s just say, the fact that the site was never focused was a big contributing factor to it’s drop in search engine rankings and income loss. I moved on and have been focusing here ever since. This blog has been doing way better traffic and ranking-wise than the old blog ever did. I’m not saying you should narrow your niche, but this is the most hated piece of advice I’ve ever given out when it comes to blog traffic. It works, but it’s a lot of work, doesn’t always align with the blogger’s wants even if it aligns with her blog traffic needs.
Word of Warning: Don’t fix it if it ain’t broken.
A Great Example of the benefits of narrowing your niche: Facing40.com

The first post on that site was published June 24, 2013. (we imported all the running and health posts from Poppy’s more established site FunnyorSnot.com) Facing40′s Alexa on launch day was 13million+. That site has been live less than 2 months yet her alexa is now 287K and she has 11 important keyword phrases ranking in Google’s top 20. Poppy’s posts focus on being 40, fit and female. Narrowing her niche played a big part of her site doing so well in such a short amount of time. By narrowing her new blog’s niche to be of benefit to women facing 40, Poppy has the ability to create focus content and build a strong foundation.

Quality and Quantity

I have a Matt Cutts video to share with you and then I have the truth on the matter.
Here’s the truth…

You can get by on what Matt says. Hell, I do. But, if you’d really like to boost your traffic, you need quality posts several times a week. Not once a month after 3 weeks of research.
Traffic is not just new visitors from search engines and social media. Traffic is returning visitors and those who subscribe to your blog too. If you’re in the faces of the regulars, they won’t ignore you if your content is original, impressive, published often.
An inquiry was made a few days ago for me to analyze an ecommerce website because it wasn’t getting traffic. I took a look. The client definitely posts daily. Each and ever single post is about one of her products. It’s all about her shop and her services and there’s not one post on that site that I would share with my network. Not one post anyone can benefit from. I said to her “how about sharing some of your expertise on your blog”.  She refused to write it herself or invest in a ghost writer. I turned the gig down.
To increase blog traffic you need to impress your visitors with content they can benefit from so they’ll share your content and send you more visitors.

Have you met PragmaticMom?

Mia’s posts are at least 1000 words, filled with valuable information and she posts almost daily. Her blog has a PageRank of 5, an Alexa of 107K and she ranks for hundreds of keywords in Google’s Top 20. (yes I am her seo consultant) She publishes quality content almost daily that people want to share because so many can benefit from it.  The woman is a powerhouse and there’s no way I could ever keep up with her posting schedule.

Social Media

It’s overwhelming. So many platforms, so little time. Truth is, invest time on all the major social media platforms – making connections, engaging with people, sharing other people’s posts more than you share your own – and you’ll attract traffic.
Social media is also crucial to your SEO, especially Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus.
Pinterest will send you crazy traffic too if you take the time to create pinnable images.

Have you met Writing Wishing?

I envy the way Alison rocks social media. Writing Wishing has thousands of followers across social media. Every one of Alison’s posts that I’ve ever seen has a great pinnable photo and she’s very active on the major platforms. I can not see a pin or a google+ share of her post and not head straight to her blog. Moth to the flame people.
Alison also owns Little Love Media, so if you need guidance in kicking butt in social media, Alison is the woman to call on. If it weren’t for her, I still wouldn’t know how to use Pinterest right.

Google Plus Pages SEO Advantage

It’s the most ignored among mom bloggers and yet it has an extreme amount of potential in bringing you more traffic by bettering your rankings in google search. I’ve been dragging bloggers kicking and screaming to Google+ and most of them still do not have a Google Plus Page for their blogs. (You know who you are.)
Since implementing a Google Plus page for this blog, becoming active on that page and increasing it’s following, my network has expanded, my reach has expanded, my Alexa dropped from almost 300k to 150k, my number of important keywords ranking in Google search doubled and my traffic increased – all in 3 weeks. If you’ve been a reader of this blog for a while, you know, I barely post 4 or 5 times a month. Sometimes only twice a month.
One thing you must keep in mind when using Google+ for your blog, your personal account is best for promoting your peeps, your Google plus page is best for promoting your posts and those posts that relate to your niche or are within your niche. Building your authority in a niche doesn’t stop with your blog, it goes beyond to where ever you have a presence.

Stop doing it alone

The good news is you can achieve amazing results but only if you’re willing to stop being a control freak. I’m not. Willing that is. I like having control over every single post that publishes on this blog.

But magazine type blogs and group blogs are outstanding at driving traffic.

And have you dropped by Gardening Gone Wild?

GGW has a team of 3 dedicated contributors who are all experts in areas of Gardening that offer niche specific expert advice and inspiration for gardening enthusiasts, newbies and pros.
The impressive social media following of each contributor and the consistent publishing of posts written for their specific niche draws thousands of visits a day.
At this writing, Gardening Gone Wild has a PageRank of 5 and hundreds of keyword terms sending them traffic from Google Search.
Sidenote: Hosting guest posts is another way to not go it alone but you still maintain your editorial rights which will feed the control freak in you. Keep in mind to review and edit all submissions. Here’s more info on guest posting and how it affects your traffic.

Visually Stimulating Ways To Drive Traffic.

Now here’s a tip no one has hated so far…Pinterest hit the nail on the head with their visual interface and there’s lots of other great visually stimulating platforms that will send you traffic too.
Feedly Reader (all you need to do is sign up for a feed reader account, find your feed and then create a follow button to add to your blog)
BlogLovin (another feed reader, not so pinteresty)
Youtube (create videos damnit)
Slideshare (repurpose your post by turning it into a slideshow)
